Direct Mail Postcard + Website = Marketing Powerhouse

Show me a business -- any business -- and I'll show you someone who can benefit from a postcard + website marketing combo.

Here's how it works:

Build a resource center dedicated to your topic or niche (real estate, finance, computer technology, lawn maintenance in Austin, Texas ... fill in the blank). Your resource site should be useful and diverse. Add articles and tutorials. Create a forum. Incorporate a blog. Set up an "Ask the Expert" bulletin board.

Next, be sure to integrate plenty of lead-generation features. This is how you will capture the all-important contact information. Visit some of your favorite resource websites and see how they capture email addresses.

Lastly, design a direct mail postcard that promotes the new resource website, and send it to a targeted list of prospects (the kind of people who would love the site).

This approach combines direct mail marketing, online PR, information-based marketing, and (ultimately) search engine visibility. It also gives your audience multiple response paths, which generally increases the number of responses.

Good luck and good marketing!

Postcard Marketing Your Small Business

I need to market my small business, but I can't afford to market my small business.

This is the all-time greatest paradox for the small business owner. Doing business without marketing is like smiling in the dark ... sure, you know you're doing it, but nobody else does.

So the need for marketing is obvious. It's the cost that scares a lot of small business owners.

That's where direct mail postcards come into the picture. Postcard marketing lets you, the small business owner, promote your business without busting the bank.

But cost is just one benefit. Learn more here:

Direct Mail Copywriting - Kills 99% of Germs

Listerine kills 99% of germs. Or so they say on the label.

What does this have to do with direct mail marketing? Well, the Listerine label teaches us a powerful lesson about the power of numbers. When used in copywriting (be it direct mail, brochures, commercials or labels), numbers add credibility.

Odd numbers do even better, because they seem exact, scientific and believable. Of course, it helps if your numbers actually are exact.

How can you apply numbers to your direct mail postcard headlines? How can you take an existing headline or message and make it more believable by integrating numbers? How might you break up your product or service into a series of numbered steps or advantages?
